Tips for a Strong Application

Be Genuine

Write from the heart. Tell us YOUR story, not what you think we want to hear. We're looking for authentic enthusiasm for cultural exchange.

Explain Your 'Why'

Go beyond 'I want to travel.' Explain what cultural exchange means to you and how you hope to grow from this experience.

Show Maturity

Demonstrate that you can handle being away from home, adapting to new situations, and representing your community well.

Get Strong Recommendations

Ask teachers who know you well, not just those who gave you good grades. We want to hear about your character.

Prepare for the Interview

Think about why this matters to you. Be yourself, be curious, and show that you're ready for this adventure.

Commit Fully

This program requires dedication throughout the school year. Make sure you're ready to prioritize meetings and preparation.

What We Look For

We're not looking for perfect students. We're looking for young people who will embrace this opportunity with enthusiasm, represent Medford with pride, and return home transformed.

Genuine curiosity about other cultures
Flexibility and adaptability
Maturity and responsibility
Positive attitude and open mind
Ability to represent Medford well
Commitment to full program participation
