Host a Student

Open your home and heart to an Italian student

Become a Host Family

Even if you don't have a student participating in the exchange, you can experience cultural exchange by hosting an Italian student for two weeks when they visit Medford.

Host families report this experience is just as meaningful as traveling abroad. You'll share American life with a young person from Italy, create lasting memories, and often form friendships that span years.

What to Expect

  • Two-Week Stay

Italian students visit Medford for approximately two weeks in the fall

  • Organized Activities

Group activities fill much of the schedule, including trips to Crater Lake, rafting, and local exploration

  • Daily Family Life

Include your student in regular family activities, meals, and daily routines

  • Support Available

Committee members are always available to help with questions or challenges

Requirements

  • Private bedroom for the student
  • Background check for adult household members
  • Willingness to include student in family activities
  • Transportation to/from group activities
  • Warm, welcoming attitude toward cultural exchange

"Many host parents say this experience is as meaningful as their child's trip. You gain a whole other family."

— Stacey Stover, Student Exchange Coordinator
